Diagnostic Medical Sonography

The diagnostic medical sonography (ultrasound) department provides service to inpatient, outpatient and emergency room patients. Utilizing state of the art digital archiving and reporting technology while working collaboratively with all other healthcare team members toward the best outcomes for the patient and the organization.

All sonographers at KMC are credentialed by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) in multiple specialties.

You should expect to be asked questions while the study is being performed. These questions will be about your medical history and symptoms. The sonographer will perform two-dimensional ultrasonic recordings of internal organs for the diagnosis of disease, study the function of the heart and assist physicians in a variety of invasive ultrasound procedures.

The sonographers at KMC demonstrate compassion and respect while working within the scope of practice as sonographers, providing excellence in imaging for safe, accurate, efficient and personal service to our patients, families and caregivers at all times.
